42nd Annual SMU Alumni Golf Tournament

SMU Alumni and friends get together on the golf course to support SMU students! The tournament raises funds for 20 student bursaries.

Huskies Home Opener

The Gorsebrook Lounge Patio
The Huskies men's football team faces StFX in the season Home Opener! SMU Alumni hosts a pre-game party at The Gorsebrook Patio with live music and complimentary drinks. Game starts at 7pm, game tickets available at the Homburg Centre ($8 for alumni).

Homecoming 2018 - Kick Off Breakfast Celebrating 50 Years of Co-Education at Saint Mary's University: 1968-2018
Wednesday, October 10, 8AM-9:30AM
Unilever Lounge, 4th Floor of Sobey School of Business, Halifax
This year, Saint Mary's University celebrates 50 years of co-education. While SMU's current student population is comprised of nearly 50% women, it wasn't until 1968 that the school was officially co-ed. Hear from alumnae from the late '60s who experienced the change first-hand as some of the first 50 female full-time students. We'll also hear from alumnae from throughout the following decades to discuss how the experience changed over the years. This panel is moderated by Bridget Brownlow MA'12 and features Ann MacGillivary BComm'71 MBA'95 and Kim Squires BA'81 BEd'82 MBA'88. More panelist announcements to come.

Homecoming 2018 - Daily Campus Tours
Wednesday, October 10 - Saturday, October 13, 11AM-12PM
Take a stroll down memory lane with our Campus Tour team! Visit your old stomping grounds while also learning about the new facilities on campus. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and will be taking place daily at 11AM between October 10-13. Advanced registration is required at least 24 hours before each upcoming tour.

Sobey School of Business professor Dr. Ellen Farrell moderates this panel featuring alumnae entrepreneurs in celebration of 50 Years of Co-Education at SMU, the 20th anniversary of the Sobey Building's opening, and 15 years of the Sobey School of Business. Hear what inspired these alumnae to become entrepreneurs, the ups and downs of owning your own business, and advice for inspiring entrepreneurs. Panelists include Shelley Simpson MTEI'16, CEO of Prism Lighting Group? & Co-founder of LED SGS Solutions Inc and Deeksha Bhaskar, co-owner of Rasa: Flavours of India.

Homecoming 2018 - Back to the Classroom: A Brief History of Organized Crime in Canada with Dr. Stephen Schneider

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Saint Mary University's Criminology degree program, we head Back to the Classroom with Criminology professor and author Dr. Stephen Schneider. He will dispel the myths of our historically-nurtured law-abiding nature with a lecture based on his book, "Iced: The Story of Organized Crime in Canada". Stephen is one of Canada’s leading scholars in the field of organized crime. Join us for this exciting lecture exploring the long history of organized crime in Canada while enjoying a full breakfast provided by SMU Alumni.
